I enjoyed your blog re justice and rig...Hello Dan,
I enjoyed your blog re justice and rightiousness, comfort and joy.
This year I am moved to take the money that I would normally buy gifts for family and friends who already have all the necessities of life and then some, and bypass the mall in favour of giving some joy to those who, through injustice have little or nothing. I have donated to the Covenant house to help some street kids, and arranged to buy a goat for a foster child in Africa, through the Christian Children's Fund. These will be noted as "from my family". All I will take with me on Christmas when we have a family gathering, is a small token Christmas candle with a note about the "Family " donation for each of my family members. This year I came to realize that the gift of my time and energy and presence has meant more to my aging parents,(in their 90's) and to my sister who has terminal cancer, than all the lovely wrapped presents one might give. I challenge others to buy less and give more to those who really are in need. It will fill your heart with peace and satisfaction and will fill theirs with joy and comfort! Wishing you and yours a very joyful Christmas season. JudithJudithnoreply@blogger.com
